If you look down and find that you yourself are a "noob," "newbie," or "Green Horn," Welcome to the Compututor Forums.

Short introduction.
My name is William Raptor Loveridge Dickie, I'm your tutor! My screen name is 'halibut holy soap,' like a kind of fish-soap that is used for holy functions to wash away one's sins with the smell of fish fat; it also has assonance. My most relevant knowledge for my work as compututor is personal experience: building websites, joining everything, reading everything, experimenting, following obscure threads and investigating methods...these gave me an understanding of computers. I think there are various abilities that people can expand with a computer, no matter what their professions or hobbies are. You can call me a jack of all trades, and a master of none (certainly better than master of one!). I like to learn about everything, so I learn as deeply as I am interested. I am working on not being a smart-ass know-it-all, but still I can tend to get caught up in providing any information I know about any topic brought up.
My hobbies are: adventuring, asking questions, decoding language. I'm curious about human-computer interaction, experience-based learning, Internet language, linguistics, grammar and semantics, Japanese and American tv, film & literature & media-complexes, digital ritualism (a way of building a world-understanding using experience and symbology), gene therapy, sound therapy, videogames, theatre, film, music anthropology, wrestling, singing, gymnastics and improving the keenness of my senses. I often write about my experiences and try to find ways to communicate these experiences to others.
Goals
My goal for myself in Compututor is to translate Computer jargon and use into broadly understood terms. My reach goal is to design a set of interfaces which will increase the competency rate of computer users so that they are not deceived or inveigled. I wish to make Internet and Computer-functions clear to the uninitiated.
