Please reply with any suggestions you have for this survey. Questions to ask my students--clever ways to elicit thorough responses, which I can use to tailor teaching for current and future students.
This survey means to improve Compututor as a business and as a personal assistant to your brains' continued mating rituals with the computer(s) you have chosen. 1. 2. Is there any thing you do routinely on your computer that you might benefit from having streamlined? 3. 4.

what do you use a computer for? what do you want* to use a computer for?
what does the internet (/god?) mean to you? who else do you know who uses a computer? with whom would you like to communicate by means of a computer? how was your day? (if only to have questions to ask that don't involve computers might get monotonous) ask about their day and listen like you aren't even there to teach this person about computers. the best way to teach someone is to get to know them personally. what they need to learn and how you may best be able to teach them will become immediately obvious through attentive idle talk. would you like something to drink? water, coffee, juice, beer, wine, tea, aquavit? Did you hear the latest? What's your take on it? Hungry? I have healthy snacks! Bathroom is down the hall and to your left. Take your shoes off. The transmission of knowledge is comfortable, after all.
You have to figure out how they learn best. But you can't just ask, "How do you learn best?" So you have to learn from them before you can effectively teach them.
