0. What the hell difference does hearing and listening make?
What I think at the moment: Hearing sounds incidental; I do it unconsciously and get aligned eventually with the sounds around us until I no longer Listen to them. That sounds like the moment when I start to Hear. Or if sounds sound similar to other sounds I hear a lot, I only hear them but don't notice them.
Listening sounds like an accidental symphony; I do it consciously and pay attention to differences and changes and pauses and derangements of sounds. The moment I start to listen, I can control the sense or I put my full attention on sounds. I think there appear multiple types of listening and hearing. Two types of listening sound like A. full attention to one sound, with other sounds in the background and B. full attention on the combination of sounds, with singular sounds sprouting up but complementing the others, or working with the other sounds.

Yes and no. I thought I was listening to only silence with headphones on.
